Now that the tumultuous election has yielded its results, many Christians are reissuing the call to pray for our national leaders. But what should we actually be praying for? It is especially difficult to pray for those leaders who we disagree with. Greg Boyd shares his thoughts on this topic and insists that in praying for those we disagree with, we begin to see those people as God sees them. It helps us resist the powers that seek to spread divisiveness and hate amongst us. Boyd also gives what he thinks is the most necessary prayer that we can pray for our  national leaders:

“The most fundamental prayer is to pray that leaders would know the ways that make for peace and have the hearts to go there.”
