In this blog post, Grace Spencer recounts a recent experience she had with one of the kids in her neighborhood. She explores themes of systemic injustice, poverty, and most of all reconciliation as she shares the story of one young boy who “made it right” after doing the wrong thing.

“By journeying with people towards reconciliation, I have learned that even the most despairing systems cannot separate us from the love of God. Although the systems we create lack God’s mercy, it exists in the fabric of our being; we long to walk in the rhythms of his grace.”

Reconciliation is not something so foreign to us, Spencer says. It is our heartbeat.
